Annual Maintenance Coming Up at Coquitlam’s City Centre Aquatic Complex

CCAC Exterior (6) web Coquitlam’s City Centre Aquatic Complex (CCAC) will undergo its annual maintenance closure from Tuesday, September 3 to Sunday, October 6, with the expected reopening on Monday, October 7.

COQUITLAM, B.C.,  August 15, 2024 – Coquitlam’s City Centre Aquatic Complex (CCAC) will undergo its annual maintenance closure from Tuesday, September 3 to Sunday, October 6, with the expected reopening on Monday, October 7.

The fitness centre at CCAC will be closed Tuesday, September 3 to Monday, September 9, reopening on Tuesday, September 10. From September 10 to October 6, the fitness centre hours will be Monday to Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Saturday, 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and it will be closed on Sundays. The front desk will close 30 minutes before the gym closes.

Maintenance Vital for Daily Public Use
The swimming pool at CCAC is open to the public every day and the systems run continuously. The closure is necessary for maintenance and cleaning that cannot be completed while the facility is open, and ensures a safe environment for staff and the public, reduces the likelihood of equipment failures and extends the life of City assets.

Annual maintenance tasks include:

  • Draining the pools and deep-cleaning the tanks;
  • Deep cleaning the fitness centres and equipment, lockers, change rooms, showers, lifejackets and pool toys;
  • Regrouting tiles and touching up paint; and
  • Inspecting and servicing mechanical systems and other equipment.

Alternative Options Available
Guests can swim in Coquitlam at Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex (PSLC) located at 633 Poirier Street. The fitness centre at PSLC will also be open for drop-in fitness classes and weight room access. Hours and details are available at coquitlam.ca/PSLC

Outdoor swimming options are also available at Eagle Ridge Outdoor Pool at 2689 Guildford Way until October 6. Visit coquitlam.ca/OutdoorPools for all the details.

We acknowledge with gratitude and respect that the name Coquitlam was derived from the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ word kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (kwee-kwuh-tlum) meaning Red Fish Up the River.  The City is honoured to be located on the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem) traditional and ancestral lands, including those parts that were historically shared with the sq̓əc̓iy̓aɁɬ təməxʷ (Katzie), and other Coast Salish Peoples.
