[ARCHIVED] COVID-19 – City of Coquitlam Update for Sunday, March 15, 2020

The City of Coquitlam is monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and is following the direction and recommendations of the BC Provincial Health Officer and local health authority (Fraser Health).

COQUITLAM, BC, March 15, 2020 – The City of Coquitlam is monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and is following the direction and recommendations of the BC Provincial Health Officer and local health authority (Fraser Health).

As of Sunday, March 15, all City services and scheduled programs are operating normally, including Spring Break programs. However, as this situation evolves it may be necessary to make adjustments.

If as a result of COVID-19, you would like to withdraw from a pre-registered City recreation program or cancel an event booking at a City-operated facility, we will issue a full refund of fees paid. For information regarding program or event cancellation, contact 604-927-4386.

We are asking our residents to consider the social distancing practices recommended by the health authorities and to do their own personal risk assessment before attending a public facility. While the City is committed to a high standard of cleanliness at all times, we have now implemented enhanced cleaning measures in all our civic facilities.

Any services changes, including program cancellations or facility closures, will be communicated via www.coquitlam.ca/covid19 and also shared through the City’s social media channels and CoquitlamConnect mobile app.

Coquitlam has activated an Emergency Operations Centre to facilitate advance planning and a coordinated response to the impacts of the current pandemic.
