Board of Variance
Coquitlam’s Board of Variance is an autonomous body with authority to vary requirements of the City’s Zoning Bylaw within prescribed statutory limits. This authority is exclusive to the Board.
The five-member volunteer Board generally meets on the third Tuesday of each month (excluding August and December) at 7 p.m. In addition to this time commitment, members are required to read relevant background material, and often undertake site inspections, prior to the meeting. All meetings are open to the public and involve weighing information and evidence received to determine if variances are to be approved or declined.
Council will be appointing two members effective January 2021. Each appointment will be for a three-year term.
Library Board
The Coquitlam Public Library Board is responsible for providing public library services in Coquitlam. There are four vacancies on the Coquitlam Public Library Board starting January 2021.
