COQUITLAM, B.C., Feb. 2, 2021 – Members of the public who regularly walk the trail along the Coquitlam River to Crystal Falls are advised that the property owner has recently blocked public access to the privately-owned sections of this trail.
There has been an increase in the volume of trail users, both due to COVID-19 and overall trail popularity and accessibility. While this trail has long been enjoyed by the community, it is not an official City-sanctioned trail with the majority of it running through private property.
At this time, the property owners have erected “No Trespassing” signs and are asking users to respect this request.
The City is exploring options for longer-term access to Crystal Falls. In the meantime, with over 90 kilometres of City-sanctioned trails, we encourage trail users to visit www.coquitlam.ca/trails to plan their next outdoor adventure.
