Childminding at City Centre Aquatic Complex

Finding time for fitness can be a challenge — that’s why we’re here to help. Parents and caregivers can enjoy a workout, swim or class while their child (ages 6 months to 5 years) is cared for in a safe, engaging space with age-appropriate activities. Our first-aid trained staff are committed to creating a positive and secure experience for every child.

  • Drop-in fee: $3.55 per child
  • Ages: 6 months – 5 years
  • Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:15 – 8:15 p.m.
  • Pre-registration 48 hours in advance is recommended

The City Centre Aquatic Complex is an aquatic and fitness facility with:

  • Eight-lane Olympic-sized lap pool

  • Free-form wave pool with:

Hours of Operation

  • Mondays to Saturdays 5:30 a.m. – 10 :30 p.m.
  • Sundays 7 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.

Note: The front desk closes 15 minutes prior to the facility closing.

Facility Updates: Water Polo Tournament and Parking Advisory

Sunday, February 22 from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.

On Sunday, February 22, a water polo tournament will impact programming and parking. Please note the following changes:

  • Swimming Lessons: As scheduled
  • Length Swimming: 
    Cancelled: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. 
  • Aqua Fit: Cancelled
  • Deep End: Closed
  • Pool Features: Limited 

The Wave Pool, sauna, steam room, hot tub, and fitness centre will operate as usual. 

Parking will be limited during the event. We recommend arriving early or using alternative transportation.

Normal schedules will resume after the tournament. Thank you for your understanding.

Women’s Only Time

On statutory holidays, from 8 to 10 a.m. City Centre Aquatic Complex is open to women and girls.

  • Women are welcome to bring male children up to the age of five years.
  • The lobby and facility opens to the general public at 10:30 a.m.

Drop-in Schedules

Adapted Aqua Movement (19+ years) 

  • Thursdays from 9:45-10:30 a.m.
  • Location:  Shallow area of the leisure pool at Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex (PSLC)
  • Fee:  $2 pre-registered drop-in 
    • Designed for those with physical and/or cognitive disabilities.
    • Focus is on low impact exercises to improve activities of daily living.
    • Those requiring one on one support to participate in the water are asked to bring their own support person at no additional charge.
    • Register one week in advance of each class. Registration opens at 5 p.m. on Thursdays and closes at 12 p.m. on Tuesdays. 
    • Maximum 6 participants per class, support persons do not need to be registered. A waitlist will be available if the class is full. 
    • Equipment available: hydraulic transfer lift, water wheelchair, float belt, pool noodle, ankle weights and dumbbells.
