Hours of Operation

  •  7 days a week, 6:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. | 3:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. 

We have a number of pre-registered drop-ins available, including length and family swimming, in addition to registered fitness and recreation programs. ​The fitness and weight room drop-in sessions are 1-hour duration and the pool drop-in sessions are 40 minutes. Registration for drop-in activities is available 24 hours in advance. 

Pre-registered Drop-in Fees

  • $1 for child/youth and senior
  • $2 per adult
  • $5 per family (group of 6)​

New Entrance During COVID

To protect our users' and staff health and to limit the number of human interactions, we will not be using the usual main entrance with the sliding doors.

For Pre-registered Fitness Drop-ins, please ​access ​the facility via the south west corner of the building closest to Guildford Way. 

For Pre-registered Aquatic Drop-ins, please access ​the facility via the east side of the building adjacent to the parking lot​.

Fitness Centre Physical Distancing

Physical distancing will be enforced at all times in our Fitness Centres.

Our friendly weight room attendants will be available at all times to ensure that everybody is keeping their distance and staying safe.

Equipment has all been spaced at least 6 feet apart to ensure a safe distance between participants, and one-way travel has been implemented in narrow walkways. 

Staff will wear masks whenever they cannot maintain a physical distance from each other or visitors.

Mask-use by visitors will be recommended, but at this time will not be required.

Note: ​Fitness centre users must be 16 yrs+.

General Guidelines for Using the Fitness Centre

  • Show up 5 – 10 minutes prior to your scheduled Fitness Centre appointment.
  • Arrive in your workout attire with a full water bottle – no access to change rooms, lockers, or water fountains.
  • Follow all posted signage. Certain areas have directional travel or maximum capacities.
  • Maintain 6​ feet distance from other Fitness Centre participants at all times.
  • Avoid setting up too close to other users when using free weights.
  • No spotting – please select weights that can be safely lifted without the use of a spotter.
  • Each weight room session is 60 minutes in length – max 10 people per session.
  • Appointments for the Fitness Centre can be made up to 24 hours in advance – must be prepaid online or by phone.

Fitness Room Equipment at City Centre Aquatic Complex 

To meet recommended social distancing requirements, we have had to move and / or remove some of the equipment in the fitness facility.

City Centre Aquatic Complex Expansion

Coquitlam is moving forward with plan to expand City Centre Aquatic Complex.

The planned renovation will feature 841 square metres (9,055 square feet) of additional Fitness Centre space, multi-purpose area, meeting room and flexible space, as well as a renovated lobby and administration area. In addition to better addressing the current facility demands, the expanded space will provide for community growth and anticipated recreation needs over the next decade.

Subject to the final design and approved budget, the renovation project is expected to deliver the following:

  • Increased number of group fitness classes
  • Additional weekly spin classes
  • More aquatic leadership programs scheduled per year
  • Additional equipment for the Fitness Centre
  • More space for stretching and free weights
  • Increased space for child minding services

Timing and Next Steps

Subject to City Council approval of the final design and budget, construction is anticipated to begin later in 2020, and complete in late 2021.
