Property tax notices were mailed to homeowners in May. For more information about Coquitlam property taxes visit www.coquitlam.ca/propertytaxes.
Apply for Your Home Owner Grant Now
The Home Owner Grant, which reduces taxes for primary residences, is administered directly by the Province of B.C. Eligible owners must apply for the Home Owner Grant directly through the Province. Apply before the property tax due date to avoid penalty. To learn more and to apply, visit www.gov.bc.ca/homeownergrant or call 1-888-355-2700.
Payment Options – Avoid Lineups
In order to avoid line ups at City Hall, please consider making payment online through your financial institution or drop payment off at one of our 24-hour dropboxes (see payment options below).
If you do choose to pay in person, City Hall (3000 Guildford Way) is open from 8 a.m – 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. Pay by cash, cheque or debit. Credit cards are not accepted for property tax payments. Please note City Hall will be closed on Friday, July 1.
Consider one of these convenient property tax payment options:
- Online or by Phone – Through your financial institution using the eight-digit folio/roll number from your tax notice.
- At a 24-hour dropbox – Secure dropboxes are located at City Hall (3000 Guildford Way) in the underground parking area or outside Burlington Drive entrance, and at Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex (633 Poirier Street).
- At your bank – Property taxes are payable at most financial institutions in Canada.
- By mail – Cheques can be mailed to 3000 Guildford Way, Coquitlam, B.C., V3B 7N2. Payment must be postmarked by the July 4 deadline to avoid penalty. Do not mail cash; cheques postdated to July 4 are accepted.
