Coquitlam gets ready for a swingin’ night of music in Town Centre Park with the second installment of the Summer Concert Series on Friday, Aug. 5 from 6 – 9 p.m.
COQUITLAM, B.C., July 28 2022 – Coquitlam gets ready for a swingin’ night of music in Town Centre Park with the second installment of the Summer Concert Series on Friday, Aug. 5 from 6 – 9 p.m.
The free series returned to the TD Community Plaza on July 15, with rocking performances by Redeye Empire and Beau Wheeler. Up next is Jazz Night featuring two toe-tapping acts:
- Diane Lines, 6 – 7 p.m.
Diane was the pianist/accompanist for Grammy winner Michael Bublé and was the principal pianist and vocalist with the Dal Richards Orchestra from 2002 to Dal Richard's passing in 2015. In 2018, Diane was inducted into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame. - Sweetpea Swing Band, 7:45 – 9 p.m.
Sweetpea has been a fixture in the Vancouver swing scene since the early 2000s. These cats deliver their traditional jazz with a modern twist, and audiences can't help jumping out of their seats to cut a rug. Sweetpea cooks up a swingin' jazz beat so clap your hands and stomp your feet!
Make it an evening by packing a picnic, or enjoying tasty eats from The Mad Greek and Hugs Mini Donuts food trucks, as well as the Rocky Point Ice Cream concession. Adults can also now bring their own alcohol and drink responsibly in all Coquitlam parks, including Town Centre Park, from dawn to dusk. The concert will run rain or shine and attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to sit on.
Get reminders and let others know you’re interested in this event by RSVPing to our Facebook event.
The Summer Concert Series finale is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 2 with Pop/Funk performances by Ashley Pater and Queer As Funk.
