Swimmers will be registering for new swimming lesson programs in winter 2023 as Coquitlam Aquatics transitions to the Lifesaving Society of B.C.
COQUITLAM, B.C., Sept. 6, 2022 – Swimmers will be registering for new swimming lesson programs in winter 2023 as Coquitlam Aquatics transitions to the Lifesaving Society of B.C.
Over 75 Years of Water Safety Training
Earlier this year, the Canadian Red Cross announced that it’s winding down swimming and lifeguarding programs to focus on surging humanitarian demands in other areas.
What does this mean for you?
Coquitlam is transitioning from the Canadian Red Cross Swim Kids program to the Lifesaving Society’s Swim for Life program for winter 2023 lessons. This transition will not affect fall 2022 swimming lessons.
A lesson conversion chart is available to view and download at www.coquitlam.ca/aquatics. The chart shows which Lifesaving Society Swim for Life program swimmers will move into based on their current or previous Red Cross Swim Kids program.
If you have questions about this transition, please call 604-927-4386 or email prcs_info@coquitlam.ca.
Reminder: One Set at a Time
Swimming lesson participants can only be registered for one set of lessons at a time. You may register your child for the next set of lessons on the last day of the current set. This allows for more families to gain access to the limited number of available lessons.
Please note, your child will be withdrawn from a program(s) if registered in more than one lesson set, or if they are registered in future lesson sets prior to completing their current lessons.
