COQUITLAM, B.C., Sept. 15, 2022 – On Sept. 19, 2022, Coquitlam will recognize a National Day of Mourning to mark the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
Following announcements by federal and provincial public agencies, the City is observing the day to provide our community the opportunity to mourn the Queen’s passing.
Recreation and Civic Service Updates
As a result, certain civic facilities in Coquitlam will be closed or operate with reduced service levels on Monday, Sept. 19, 2022.
- City Council – All business scheduled for the Sept. 19 Council-in-Committee, Closed Council and Regular Council meetings will be deferred to the next scheduled meeting day of September 26, 2022.
- City Hall – Closed to the public on Monday, Sept. 19.
- Garbage Collection – No change to garbage, green cart or recycling collection service schedules. Visit www.coquitlam.ca/recollect to confirm your collection day.
- Recreation Centres – Most drop-in and registered programs will operate as usual, however School District 43 sites (Summit Community Centre, and Smiling Creek and Centennial Activity Centres) will be closed.
