Coquitlam Aquatics Update
The Canadian Red Cross is winding down swimming lessons and lifeguard programs to focus on surging humanitarian demands in other areas. As of Jan. 1, 2023 Coquitlam transitioned from the Canadian Red Cross Swim Kids program to the Lifesaving Society’s Swim for Life program.
A lesson conversion chart is available to view and download at www.coquitlam.ca/aquatics. The chart shows which Lifesaving Society Swim for Life program swimmers will move into based on their Red Cross Swim Kids program.
If you have questions about this transition, please call 604-927-4386 or email prcs_info@coquitlam.ca.
Reminder: One Set at a Time
Skating and swimming lesson participants can only be registered for one set of lessons at a time. You may register your child for the next set of lessons on the last day of the current set. This allows for more families to gain access to the limited number of available lessons.
Please note, your child will be withdrawn from a program(s) if registered in more than one lesson set or if registered in future lesson sets prior to completing their current lessons.
Financial Assistance for Recreation
It is now easier than ever to access financial support for Coquitlam’s recreation services. Through the City’s Financial Assistance for Recreation program, qualifying Coquitlam residents will receive 50 free drop-in visits plus a $225 credit they can use for an expanded range of admissions, passes, programs, lessons, exam fees, supplies, equipment rentals and more.
