Culture Days is an opportunity for hands-on, interactive events that invite the public to the behind-the-scenes world of artists and creators.

Join Us in Coquitlam’s Town Centre Park on Saturday, September 23

At the heart of Coquitlam’s Culture Days programming this year is an Indigenous arts and culture event at Town Centre Park Community Plaza on Saturday, September 23 from 1 – 3 p.m.

Enjoy a vibrant performance and an engaging workshop:

  • Wild Moccasin Dancers – An intertribal dance collective that expresses their gifts through songs, dances and storytelling.
  • 2 Métis Women – An interactive workshop presenting the ancient skill of finger weaving. Participants will not only learn how to finger weave using the Métis technique but also the importance of intertwining traditional culture with modern day.

We acknowledge with gratitude and respect that the name Coquitlam was derived from the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ (HUN-kuh-MEE-num) word kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (kwee-KWET-lum) meaning “Red Fish Up the River”. The City is honoured to be located on the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm traditional and ancestral lands, including those parts that were historically shared with the q̓ic̓əy̓ (kat-zee), and other Coast Salish Peoples.
