COQUITLAM, BC, March 16, 2020 – Further to today’s direction from the Government of Canada and BC’s Provincial Health Officer, effective the end of the day on Monday, March 16, the City of Coquitlam will be closing most of its civic facilities to the public until further notice.
City Hall will remain open at this time. A complete facility listing is included below.
In addition, to help further mitigate the risk of transmission and exposure of COVID-19, the City is also cancelling all Spring Break camps as of the end of day on Monday, March 16.
The City has also taken the added precaution of cancelling all event bookings scheduled for City facilities between now and April 30, 2020. This includes bookings at the City’s indoor and outdoor facilities.
Participants who registered for a City recreation program or event booking at a City-operated facility, will be able to receive a full refund of fees paid. For information regarding program or event cancellation, contact 604-927-4386.

Next Steps
Coquitlam activated its Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) on Friday, March 13 to facilitate advance planning and a coordinated response to the impacts of the current pandemic.
Further to the new direction received today from the health authorities, the City’s EOC staff will continue to assess what additional measures may be required at this time in relation to City facilities, programs, services and events.
