This June, celebrate Pride Month in Coquitlam and show your support for the LGBTQ2S+ community.

COQUITLAM, B.C., May 28, 2025 – This June, celebrate Pride Month in Coquitlam and show your support for the LGBTQ2S+ community. Explore a wide range of activities for all age groups, designed to foster meaningful connections and strengthen our inclusive community spirit.

The Pride flag will be flying at City Hall starting on June 1, and Pride banners will be displayed at locations across the City. These flags, alongside rainbow-coloured lighting on Pinetree Way and the rainbow crosswalk on Burlington Avenue, showcase the City’s support for Pride in Coquitlam.

We acknowledge with gratitude and respect that the name Coquitlam was derived from the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ (HUN-kuh-MEE-num) word kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (kwee-KWET-lum) meaning “Red Fish Up the River”. The City is honoured to be located on the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm traditional and ancestral lands, including those parts that were historically shared with the q̓ic̓əy̓ (kat-zee), and other Coast Salish Peoples.
