COQUITLAM, BC, Feb. 24, 2020 – Coquitlam households will be receiving their 2020 utility notices this week and payment is due Tuesday, March 31, 2020.
Utility bills are issued each year at the end of February and cover the costs for water service, garbage and green waste collection for single-family homes and multi-family homes up to four-plexes.
The cost for these utility services is charged separately from property taxes and supports operating costs as well as the replacement of aging infrastructure, such as pipes, reservoirs, pumps, etc. For residences with secondary suites, an additional flat rate for sewer service is included in the utility charges. For all other residences, sewer and drainage fees are charged with property taxes.
