COQUITLAM, B.C., Sept. 29, 2020 – With good weather in the forecast this week, Coquitlam is keeping its spray pads open until Monday, Oct. 6.
The City’s nine spray pads were originally set to close on Sept. 27, when Eagle Ridge Outdoor Pool closed and outdoor swimming officially wrapped up for the year.
Coquitlam extended its outdoor pool and spray pad season a few extra weeks this year to provide residents with continuing outdoor recreation options while the weather held. Information and COVID-19 protocols can be found at www.coquitlam.ca/outdoorpools.
Indoor Swimming and Activities Available
Swimmers looking for indoor options can book pre-registered sessions at the Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex and City Centre Aquatic Complex through www.coquitlam.ca/registration.
The City began to reintroduce indoor recreational activities in August as part of its reopening framework, guided by B.C.’s Restart Plan. Registration is required both for regular programs and drop-in activities such as swimming, skating, weight room and fitness studio access.
Each site has a safety plan and protocols in place to protect staff and the public, including restricting access to registered patrons only, different access points, enhanced cleaning, and changes to some activities. All current offerings are posted at www.coquitlam.ca/registration.
