[ARCHIVED] Plan Fun Activities at Home with Free Halloween Kit

Halloween Kits Coquitlam families can enjoy fun Halloween activities at home with a free kit from the City, available for pickup starting today.

COQUITLAM, B.C., Oct. 27, 2020 – Coquitlam families can enjoy fun Halloween activities at home with a free kit from the City, now available for pickup.

There are different kit options that include an activity and spooky recipe geared to four age groups: ages three to five, six to nine, 10 to 12, and 13 and up.

Coquitlam residents are invited to drop by Poirier Community Centre at 630 Poirier St. to get up to three of the free kits while supplies last. No pre-registration is required. The centre is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.  For information or to check on kit availability, contact 604-927-6027.

Planning a Safe Halloween

The City is providing the kits to give families some safe and fun activities to do at home, given that many typical Halloween parties and events are cancelled this year.

Each kit provides all the supplies for a spooky craft or activity, including:

  • Popsicle stick spider webs
  • Tin can bowling
  • Glow-in-the-dark slime

Easy Halloween-themed snack recipes are also included, such as:

  • Banana mummies
  • Apple smileys

The kit instructions and recipes are also posted in the Children section at www.coquitlam.ca/spirit, along with other fun crafts and activities.

Residents are encouraged to #SupportLocal when purchasing their Halloween decorations, craft supplies and treats.
