[ARCHIVED] Tree Chipping Events in Coquitlam

Tree Chipping News Flash Help reduce waste this holiday season by disposing of your natural Christmas tree at a community tree-chipping event.

COQUITLAM, B.C., Dec. 23, 2020 – Help reduce waste this holiday season by disposing of your natural Christmas tree at a community tree-chipping event. Chipping is by donation to support the community groups that organize the events.

Locations, Dates and Times:

Organization: Friends of Mundy Park
Location: Mundy Park – Spani Pool Parking Lot (655 Hillcrest St.)
Dates: Saturday, Jan. 2 and Sunday, Jan. 3
Times: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Organization: Kinsmen Club of Coquitlam
Location: Town Centre Park – Lot A
Dates: Saturday, Jan. 2 and Sunday, Jan. 3
Times: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Organization: Scouts francophone de Maillardville
Location: Canadian Tire Parking Lot (1200 Seguin Dr.)
Date: Saturday, Jan. 9
Time: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Trees must be free of any decorations or tinsel.

Public Health Protocols

In compliance with the Public Health Order for Drive-Through events, our volunteer organizations will be ensuring that everyone adheres to proper physical distancing measures and wears a mask. Our volunteer organizations’ COVID-19 safety plan ensures residents: 

  • wear a mask;
  • only leave their vehicles to drop off items;
  • return to their vehicles immediately after dropping off items; and 
  • comply with the physical distancing requirement when out of their vehicles.

Green Cart

Natural Christmas trees can also be disposed of in your Green Cart as long as the tree is cut in 1m lengths and is a maximum 10cm diameter and the Green Cart lid is completely closed. 

Coquitlam Recycling and Waste Centre 

Whole or cut trees can also be disposed of at the Coquitlam Recycling and Waste Centre (formerly the Coquitlam Transfer Station) at 1200 United Blvd.
