The Fitness Centre will maintain regular hours (6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.) until Tuesday, Feb. 16 when it will close until Sunday, Feb. 21 to move to the Innovation Centre.

As of Monday, Feb. 22, the Innovation Centre Fitness Centre (1207 Pinetree Way) will operate from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. Users can expect to find fitness equipment similar to that currently at CCAC.

To pre-register for your 60-minute workout session, visit www.coquitlam.ca/register. To ensure public health and safety, only staff and pre-registered patrons will be allowed on-site, with a maximum of 10 participants each hour.

Entrance will be via the west main entrance off the plaza area adjacent to the Evergreen Cultural Centre. Pay parking is available in the lot off Pinetree Way serving both the Innovation Centre and Evergreen Cultural Centre.

Enhanced CCAC to Meet Increased Demand

The expansion and renovation project is intended to address current needs at CCAC, which usually operates at or over capacity, while providing more opportunities and addressing future growth in the area and city.

New features will include a more welcoming lobby entrance and new concession, a reorganized and larger fitness centre and studio, expanded multi-use spaces and a renovated administration area. The improvements are expected to increase visits by 65,000 per year and allow for more services and programs.

The $5-million project is funded through Coquitlam’s 2021 to 2025 Capital Plan and is part of the City’s long-term strategy to renew and maintain its recreation facilities to support the growing community.

For more information on the renovation project, visit www.coquitlam.ca/ccac or sign up for Parks, Recreation, Culture and Facilities email updates at www.coquitlam.ca/enews or customized NotifyMe news subscriptions at www.coquitlam.ca/notifyme.

Staying Safe with Coquitlam Recreation

Safety protocols are in place at all City facilities to ensure the safety of program participants and staff. In compliance with the Provincial Mask Mandate Order, masks are required in all indoor facilities with exemptions as outlined in the provincial Order. For example, a mask is not required when participating in a fitness activity, but it must be worn as you move around the facility.

Coquitlam Recreation is continually adapting to meet the requirements of updated Public Health Orders and we appreciate your patience as we may need to make last minute changes. If programs are cancelled due to Provincial Health Orders, customers will receive an account credit, or you can request a refund on your original method of payment. Please call 604-927-4386 for assistance.
