[ARCHIVED] Get Four Free Months with Coquitlam Rec Facility Parking Pass

CCAC Parking Coquitlam residents buying a one-year recreation facility parking pass in 2021 will get an extra four months for free.

COQUITLAM, B.C., Mar. 11, 2021 – Coquitlam residents buying a one-year recreation facility parking pass in 2021 will get an extra four months for free.

With facilities reopened, the City is offering the bonus months to encourage people to take advantage of its safe indoor recreation activities. The free parking is being subsidized through Coquitlam’s Community Support and Recovery Program (CSRP), which is supporting the community through the pandemic.

Free Parking Provided Retroactively

The one-year facility parking passes are available to Coquitlam residents for $30 and valid for use in the parking lots at City Centre Aquatic Complex (CCAC) and Pinetree Community Centre.

The City recognizes that pandemic-related facility closures affected facility passholders. While refunds cannot be provided for passes purchased prior to 2021 due to system restrictions, the four free months will be provided to anyone who purchases a 2021 pass. Passholders can update their parking passes at reception in one of the participating facilities, or at Revenue Services at City Hall.

More information and requirements can be found in the Parking Passes section at www.coquitlam.ca/parking.

Savings Provided for Recreation Parking and Fees

The passes can provide significant savings for those who regularly use Coquitlam’s recreation or cultural services. In addition to its outdoor recreation offerings, the City is providing a variety of safe indoor recreation activities in alignment with current health protocols, including swimming, fitness and leisure programs for people of all ages.

The City also continues to offer temporarily reduced fitness and recreation drop-in fees ($1 for children/seniors, $2 for adults and $5 for family groups of up to six) through the CSRP, and hours were recently extended at CCAC and Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex. Program and booking information is available at www.coquitlam.ca/registration.

Coquitlam’s COVID-19 Plan Supporting Community Recovery

Introduced in spring 2020, Coquitlam’s COVID-19 Community Support and Recovery Plan (CSRP) is a multi-phased recovery strategy made up of programs and initiatives to support all facets of the community through the pandemic. The CSRP provides targeted immediate and long-term support for businesses, residents and the not-for-profit sector. A wide variety of CSRP initiatives were introduced in 2020, with more rolling out throughout 2021. Information about the program and supports is posted at www.coquitlam.ca/csrp.
