As Small Business Week approaches, Coquitlam is inviting its small businesses to share their story.
COQUITLAM, B.C., Oct. 12, 2021 – Behind every small business is a real person – and often, a local one.
As Small Business Week approaches, Coquitlam is inviting its small businesses to share their story. Businesses are encouraged to complete a brief questionnaire at www.coquitlam.ca/businessweek before Oct. 15 for a chance to be showcased on the City website and social media channels during Small Business Week Oct. 17 to 23.
As part of the City’s economic recovery efforts, the initiative helps promote local businesses while highlighting that buying from a local business or restaurant benefits the community.
Shopping Local Helps Locals
Money spent at small businesses often stays in the community, providing local residents with a livelihood. Coquitlam has nearly 7,000 licensed businesses, many of them small enterprises run by local residents.
Businesses that complete the City questionnaire will be asked to provide a photo and answer a few questions about themselves, their services and products.
Selected businesses will then have a chance to be profiled on the City’s website and social media channels during Small Business Week, allowing residents to meet the people behind the local stores and restaurants they frequent.
About Small Business Week
BDC Small Business Week is an annual celebration of entrepreneurship that the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) has organized for over 40 years. During the coronavirus pandemic, Canadian entrepreneurs have once again shown their courage and ability to adapt. This year, BDC Small Business Week is recognizing their resilience, trying to understand what has changed for Canadian businesses and looking to build for the future in these uncertain times.
