COQUITLAM, B.C., Monday, Nov. 22, 2021 – The City of Coquitlam has been informed that as of Monday, Nov. 22, Recycle BC is suspending curbside and multi-family glass recycling collection.
Due to the unprecedented flooding event experienced in southern B.C., Recycle BC is making a temporary change to collection of some materials. With transportation corridors compromised due to road closures and Recycle BC’s primary glass-processing facility flooded, there will be a temporary suspension to the collection of:
- Non-deposit glass bottles and jars and foam packaging (white and coloured) from Recycle BC depots; and
- Curbside and multi-family glass bottles and jars.
Recycle BC is requesting residents hold onto these material until collection resumes.
Recycle BC will continue to collect and receive paper, cardboard, containers and soft plastics, and will be working with partners to ensure that all other recyclables are handled as effectively as possible during this emergency.
Recycling collection in the City of Coquitlam is managed by Recycle BC. For updated information regarding this service disruption, please visit Recycle BC’s website at recyclebc.ca/coquitlam.
