The City of Coquitlam has partnered with FortisBC to enhance a number of festive and fun drop-in skate events throughout December.
COQUITLAM, B.C., Dec. 9, 2021 – The City of Coquitlam has partnered with FortisBC to enhance a number of festive and fun drop-in skate events throughout December.
Visitors are encouraged to dress up and drop-in at the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex (633 Poirier St.) to skate with family and friends at the following events:
- Skate with Santa – Sunday, Dec. 12, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. / 12:45 – 2:15 p.m. / 2:30 – 4 p.m.
- Holiday Sweater Skate – Sunday, Dec. 19, 1:15 – 2:30 p.m. / 2:45 – 4 p.m.
- Christmas Eve Skate – Friday, Dec. 24, 10 – 11:15 a.m. / 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
- Boxing Day Skate – Sunday, Dec. 26, 10 – 11:15 a.m. / 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
- New Year’s Eve Skate – Friday, Dec. 31, 10 – 11:15 a.m. / 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
- New Year’s Day Skate – Saturday, Jan. 1, 10 – 11:15 a.m. / 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
No pre-registration is required for the drop-in skates. Skates are first come, first serve and capacity limits apply. Family admission rates apply.
FortisBC has long been a supporter of Coquitlam community events, partnering with the City to provide and enhance community events and initiatives to Coquitlam residents. In 2016, 2017 and 2018, FortisBC was the Presenting Partner of Neighbourhood Nights, a popular summer park program. In past years, FortisBC was also a supporter of Coquitlam’s Canada Day event

COVID-19 Mask and Vaccination Requirements
The City of Coquitlam operates within the requirements set out by the Provincial Health Officer and all current public health orders are followed including proof of vaccination requirements and mask mandates. Masks are required for all skaters five and up while in the facility but may be removed while on ice. Proof of vaccination is required for participation for skaters 12 and up, adults 18 and up must also show one piece of government ID.
