[ARCHIVED] Tree Chipping Events in Coquitlam

Natural tree for community tree chipping event

COQUITLAM, B.C., Dec. 23, 2021 – Help reduce waste this holiday season by disposing of your natural Christmas tree at a community tree-chipping event. Chipping is by donation to support the community groups that organize the events.

Dates, Times and Locations 

  • Organization: Friends of Mundy Park
    Location: Mundy Park – Spani Pool Parking Lot, 655 Hillcrest St.
    Dates: Saturday, Jan. 8 and Sunday, Jan. 9
    Times: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

  • Organization: Kinsmen Club of Coquitlam
    Location: Town Centre Park – Lot A
    Dates: Saturday, Jan. 8 and Sunday, Jan. 9
    Times: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

  • Organization: Scouts francophone de Maillardville
    Location: Canadian Tire parking lot, 1200 Seguin Dr.
    Date: Saturday, Jan. 8 
    Time:  9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Trees must be free of any stands, decorations or tinsel.

Public Health Protocols

The volunteer organizations hosting these events will have a COVID-19 Safety Plan that complies with all Public Health Order requirements, guidelines and best practices.

Green Cart

Natural Christmas trees can also be placed in your Green Cart as long as the tree is cut in 1-metre lengths and a maximum 10-cm diameter. The Green Cart lid  must be completely closed. 

Coquitlam Recycling and Waste Centre 

Whole or cut trees can also be dropped of at the Coquitlam Recycling and Waste Centre, 1200 United Blvd. Free for Coquitlam residents; proof of identification required.
