[ARCHIVED] Town Centre Park and Coquitlam Crunch Parking Availability Now Online

Digital Parking Sign at Town Centre Park Visitors to the Coquitlam Crunch and Town Centre Park can now plan ahead for parking at two of Coquitlam’s most popular destinations.

COQUITLAM, B.C., April 20, 2022 – Visitors to the Coquitlam Crunch and Town Centre Park can now plan ahead for parking at two of Coquitlam’s most popular destinations. The new Find Parking webpage uses real-time data from digital parking counters to show motorists whether a parking lot is full and where to find empty spots elsewhere.

The webpage shows a live tally of empty spots in five parking lots within Town Centre Park, as well as the Coquitlam Crunch parking lot located on Lansdowne Way. This information can help park visitors plan their visit while using the City’s latest technology, and is just one of many online services the City offers. Park visitors are reminded not to use electronic devices while driving, to plan ahead and check the website before heading out to one of the parks.

A destination for sports, festivals and recreational use, the award-winning Town Centre Park has five parking lots and 820 parking spaces that are in high demand during major events. The Coquitlam Crunch is a popular and challenging fitness trail that starts at the base of Westwood Plateau, climbs 2.2 km to the summit on Eagle Ridge Drive, and includes a set of more than 400 stairs followed by an uphill hike.

Digital Parking Signs

The new webpage makes use of parking data from digital parking signs installed to help visitors at Coquitlam’s busiest parks find parking more quickly. Real-time digital parking signs are becoming an industry standard in the public and private sector.

Linked to the City’s fibre optic network, digital parking signs help maintain the flow of traffic during busy periods. The signs also improve motorist and pedestrian safety, curb illegal parking, reduce vehicle idling and alleviate traffic congestion in parking lots and along nearby roads.
