[ARCHIVED] 2022 Property Tax Notices in the Mail

City Hall 2022

COQUITLAM, B.C., May 24, 2022 – Property Tax Notices are being mailed out to Coquitlam homes and businesses this week.

Funding close to half of Coquitlam’s total budget, tax revenue pays for essential services such as police protection, fire/rescue response, road maintenance, recreation and culture services programs and events, parks and trails, and more, that improve quality of life for Coquitlam residents.

Approximately 40 per cent of the funds the City collects through property taxes are collected on behalf of other agencies including the Province of B.C., TransLink, Metro Vancouver and B.C. Assessment in order to fund regional services.

The deadline for 2022 property tax payments is Monday, July 4.

Apply for Your Home Owner Grant Now

The Home Owner Grant, which reduces taxes for primary residences, is administered directly by the Province of B.C. Eligible owners must apply for the Home Owner Grant directly through the Province before the property tax due date to avoid penalty. To learn more and to apply, visit www.gov.bc.ca/homeownergrant or call 1-888-355-2700.

Payment Options

Consider one of these convenient payment options:

  • Online or by Phone – Through your financial institution using the eight-digit folio/roll number from your tax notice.
  • At a 24-hour dropbox – Secure dropboxes are located at City Hall (3000 Guildford Way) in the underground parking area or outside Burlington Drive entrance, and at Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex (633 Poirier Street).
  • At your bank – Property taxes are payable at most financial institutions.
  • By mail – Cheques can be mailed to 3000 Guildford Way, Coquitlam, BC, V3B 7N2, Attention: Revenue Services. Payment must be postmarked by the July 4 deadline to avoid penalty. Do not mail cash; cheques postdated to July 4 are accepted.

If you do choose to pay in person, City Hall (3000 Guildford Way) is open from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. Pay by cash, cheque or debit. Credit cards are not accepted for property tax payments. Please note City Hall will be closed on Friday, July 1.

More information about property taxes is available at www.coquitlam.ca/propertytaxes.
