[ARCHIVED] Coquitlam’s Lights at Lafarge Season Kicks Off Nov. 26

Fire and Light Performance Coquitlam’s Lights at Lafarge are back this year with new lighting features and a free kick-off event that’s sure to spark your holiday spirit.

COQUITLAM, B.C., Nov. 16, 2022 – Coquitlam’s Lights at Lafarge are back this year with new lighting features and a free kick-off event that’s sure to spark your holiday spirit.

Celebrate the Season Nov. 26

Event-goers can join the celebration on Saturday, Nov. 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. with live performances on the TD Community Plaza stage, dazzling light displays that encircle the walking loops around the lake, food vendors, roving performers, family crafts and more! This year’s kick-off event will take place entirely outdoors so visitors should dress for the weather as they take in the festivities.

Come early or stay late to grab a bite to eat from the on-site food vendors serving from 5 to 9 p.m. Foodies can enjoy a variety of delicious options, with service on both sides of the lake. Enjoy warm beverages, comfort food and plant-based options.

Roving Entertainment and Family Activities

Visitors can wander around the lake, taking in more than one million lights and enjoying the roving performers – perfect for festive photos.

Activities from our local community arts and culture organizations are a great way for families to create together on the west side of Lafarge Lake from 5 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 26. Make your own jingle bell ornament with the Evergreen Cultural Centre, decorate a fall-themed lantern with Place des Arts, or vote for your favourite holiday carol and pick up a limited-edition festive button from the Coquitlam Public Library.

For more information, including a schedule of events and a list of food vendors, visit www.coquitlam.ca/lights. To receive updates and an event reminder, R.S.V.P. to the Facebook event page. Share your photos with us by tagging #lightsatlafarge and #explorecoquitlam.

Getting to Lights at Lafarge

Use Translink’s Trip Planner or ride the SkyTrain to the Lafarge Lake-Douglas Station for easy access to Town Centre Park.
