Patrons strolling around Lights at Lafarge.

COQUITLAM, B.C., December 13, 2023 – It will be anything but a silent night on Saturday, December 23 at Lafarge Lake as Coquitlam looks to break a world record hosting Jingle Bells Night.

This annual free event is set to return with carollers filling Town Centre Park for a seasonal sing-a-long, complete with roving mascots, reindeer games, and a special photo opportunity with a certain North Pole celebrity.

Jingle Bells World Record starts at 7 p.m.

Be part of a world record-breaking event and sing along with fellow carolers as you stroll around Town Centre Park. The world record attempt starts at 7 p.m., when park-goers are encouraged to stop where they are and join in for a community sing-a-long of Jingle Bells.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their own jingle bells and dress in their best holiday attire.

Be sure to snap a selfie with the festive mascots roving around the lake.

Don’t forget to share your photos on social media tagging #LightsAtLafarge and #ParkSpark—we want to see how much fun you’re having!

We acknowledge with gratitude and respect that the name Coquitlam was derived from the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ (HUN-kuh-MEE-num) word kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (kwee-KWET-lum) meaning Red Fish Up the River. The City is honoured to be located on the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm traditional and ancestral lands, including those parts that were historically shared with the q̓ic̓əy̓ (kat-zee), and other Coast Salish Peoples.
