COQUITLAM, B.C., Jan. 21, 2022  Weight rooms at Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex and City Centre Aquatic Complex are slowing reopening after an announcement from the Provincial Health Officer on Tuesday.

The weight rooms are currently open to the public with pre-registered time blocks, distancing and capacity limits in place. At this time, both Glen Pine and Pinetree weight rooms remain closed due to spacing requirements.

In-person group fitness is anticipated to return starting Monday, Jan. 24, with indoor and outdoor offerings available.

Advanced registration and payment is required for both weight room access and outdoor spin classes. All indoor drop-in fitness classes will be first come, first served. Registration will open 48 hours in advance of the start of each class or session.

Registration links can be found at www.coquitlam.ca/fitness. Group fitness class options will be posted to the same page as classes become available. Drop-in fees can be found at www.coquitlam.ca/onepass.

Vaccine & Mask Requirements

All City of Coquitlam recreation activities follow the current health and safety protocols as required in the public health order. Proof of vaccination and government issued ID for those 19 and up is required for participation in all fitness activities.

Masks are required to be worn by all staff and patrons when not exercising, and while moving around the facility and between exercise equipment. Masks may be removed only while actively exercising.
