[ARCHIVED] Coquitlam Volunteers Are Making a Difference

COQUITLAM, B.C., April 17, 2023 – The City of Coquitlam is celebrating National Volunteer Week April 16 – 22 by thanking volunteers, sharing their stories and encouraging others to volunteer and make a difference.

Volunteers contribute thousands of hours every year that allow the City to extend the reach and impact of programs, events and services in the community. Volunteers help keep Coquitlam safe and clean, protect our environment, and support seniors and others in need.

Volunteering is also a great way to gain skills and experience while learning about the work of the City for anyone who might be considering a career with Coquitlam.

 Why Volunteer with Coquitlam?

In addition to making a difference and helping others in the community, volunteering offers the opportunity to:

  1. Have fun: Volunteers meet new people and participate in City programs in new ways.
  2. Develop skills: Choose a role that will help you develop valuable skills and experience.
  3. Expand your resume: Volunteering can boost your resume as it lets your future employers know that you have experience working on a team and with a wide range of people.

Sign up today for a number of opportunities such as helping to beautify Coquitlam’s gardens, delivering meals to seniors, assisting with recreation activities and much more at www.coquitlam.ca/volunteer.
