COQUITLAM, B.C., June 14, 2023 – Get ready to kick back and enjoy free musical performances as Coquitlam’s much-loved Summer Concert Series returns this summer to Town Centre Park. Pack a picnic, pick up a bite to eat along the way or try out an on-site food truck.

Musical guests will light up the Town Centre Park Community Plaza Stage for three Friday evenings on July 14, Aug. 4 and Sept. 1 from 7 – 9 p.m., with the support of our 2023 Presenting Partner, Coquitlam Centre.  Visit coquitlam.ca/SummerConcerts for the full event listings.

With the concerts held at Town Centre Park, the venue is a convenient 10-minute walk or roll from the Lafarge Lake – Douglas SkyTrain station.

2023 Summer Concert Series Lineup Features Three Great Performing Acts

This year’s Summer Concert Series powerhouse performers span three musical genres.  With two full 45-minute sets, audiences will get to hear more songs from each night’s band than ever before.

Friday, July 14: Funk Night

  • Queer as Funk: It started, like most good ideas, over beer and song. A few short years later, Vancouver’s Queer as Funk is renowned for its tight rhythm section, hot horns, and soulful vocals, bringing together the city’s best musicians in a dynamic, high-energy dance band. There's nothing this tight-knit band loves more than performing together, and that love is palpable to audiences everywhere.

Friday, Aug. 4: Roots / Country Night

  • The Promised: Known for their acoustic style and high-energy music, The Promised is a roots/country band that won the 2019 Breakthrough Country music project competition and continues to attract fans, including those new to country music.

Friday, Sept. 1: Soul / R&B Night

  • Krystle Dos Santos: Krystle Dos Santos is a two-time Western Canadian Music Award winning soul, jazz and R&B singer. With an extraordinary voice that is commanding, powerful and rich with talent, her music, inspired by classic and neo-soul combined with smooth R&B elements, is executed brilliantly; It's simultaneously elegant, bold and sensual.

Food Trucks

  • Friday, July 14 – Tornado Potato, Teapressu
  • Friday, Aug. 4 – Roasted Revolution, Shameless Buns
  • Friday, Sept. 1 – Gary’s Kettle Corn, Japadog
