Youth Week

Coquitlam once again joins communities across B.C. to celebrate the diversity and positive contributions of youth during BC Youth Week from May 1 - 7. 

Recreation staff have planned a full week of drop-in and registered activities at recreation facilities and City parks around the community including trivia nights, workshops, sports drop-ins, and wellness activities. 

To celebrate the start of Youth Week, there will be a kickoff BBQ at Maillardville Community Centre’s Plaza and Youth Lounge with refreshments and grilled eats from 4 to 6 p.m. Those that want to take part can either register to save a spot (Course ID 227417) or drop in to eat and socialize. 

There will also be a kickoff party at Pinetree Community Centre from 5 to 9 p.m. (Course ID 229443). This will be an exciting evening of food, fun, and community connection! Local youth-focused community organizations will be on-site to share resources and opportunities, including a chalk mural creation.

Sign Up for the Scavenger Hunt by May 1

Youth Week's popular weeklong Scavenger Hunt is back again for another year (Course ID 227988). We're inviting all Coquitlam youth aged 11 -18 to join in on the hunt. Throughout the week, participants will receive clues via email that will lead to a task at different spots around Coquitlam. Snap photos and uncover the city's hidden gems.

Registration is open now until May 1 at coquitlam.ca/registration, offering participants the chance to compete with friends or solo for exciting prizes. 

3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on Saturday, May 2

Local youth can participate in an exciting 3 on 3 basketball tournament (Course ID 228051) on Saturday, May 2 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Town Centre Park basketball courts (1299 Pinetree Way). Teens can showcase their skills, enjoy a bite to eat, and win fantastic prizes. This event is for youth aged 11 to 18 and will proceed, rain or shine. 

Note: Only one team member needs to register and will be considered a registration for your whole team.
