COQUITLAM, B.C., Aug. 9, 2023 – Coquitlam residents can soon plan their fall activities, hobbies and events as registration for general recreation, fitness and park programs opens on Aug. 16 at 8:30 a.m.
Registration for fall swimming and skating programs opened on July 26.
Registration Dates
Fall general recreation, fitness and park programs run September to December. Key upcoming dates are:
- Friday, Aug. 11 – View programs online
- Monday, Aug. 14 – View the Fall Program Guide online
- Wednesday, Aug. 16 at 8:30 a.m. – Online, phone and in-person registration opens

Types of Registered Programs Available
Offering programs for all ages and abilities, Coquitlam has a variety of general recreation, fitness and park activities available, including:
- Adult crafts, hobbies, dance, language classes, information presentations and workshops
- Winter break camps
- Beginner-friendly, low-impact fitness classes
- Fun adult-participation programs for early years children
- Arts and crafts, dance and sport programs for children
- Sports, music, fitness and leadership development programs for youth
- Birthday parties at Maillardville and Poirier Community Centres
- Gardening workshops
- Special events at parks and facilities throughout Coquitlam
Financial Assistance Available for Recreation
It is now easier than ever to access financial support for Coquitlam’s recreation services through the City’s Financial Assistance for Recreation program. Each year, qualifying Coquitlam residents will receive 50 free drop-in visits plus a $225 credit they can use for an expanded range of admissions, passes, programs, lessons, exam fees, supplies, rentals and more.
